Whitefish man killed in boating crash on Flathead Lake

A 27-year-old Whitefish man was killed and his wife was injured in a boating crash on Flathead Lake on Saturday.

According to Flathead County Deputy Coroner Dorothy Browder, Travis Wickum was the victim in the incident, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July approximately three miles east of Lakeside. Wickum and his wife were in a boat that was struck by another boat. A report that one boat was operating without lights was not confirmed.

The crash is under investigation by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
