David Jenkins

| July 2, 2009 11:00 PM

David Franklin Jenkins, 59, born in Everett, Wash., in 1950 to Bernie and Jean Jenkins of Camano Island, Wash., beloved husband and father and treasured member of the Jewish community, passed away at his home on June 28, 2009, with his loving wife by his side.

He married his beautiful wife Barbara in 1971.

David and Barbara moved to the Flathead Valley in 1985, where they were the owners of the Family Barber Shop for many years, and in 2001 they opened The Barber's Shop in Columbia Falls. David served two terms of duty in Vietnam.

His two true passions were his Jewish faith and Israel, and the love of his family. David and Barbara spent many years traveling Israel and touching so many lives sharing their passions, hopes and dreams. David was a charitable man, giving all he could to a whole host of charities on a regular basis.

This is a great loss to the Jewish community, where he will be sorely missed, and to all of his friends and family who loved and cherished him so much. "We will forever love and miss you, Dad!"

David is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, David Anthony Jenkins and his wife, Sherry Jenkins, of Missoula, and Jonathan Israel Jenkins of Kalispell; two brothers, Gary and Steve Jenkins, and a sister, Peggy Jenkins, all of Camano Island. He leaves behind two precious granddaughters, Alycia and Mackinze Jenkins of Kalispell. David also leaves many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Graveside services for David were held Monday, June 29 at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell. A reception followed.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for David's family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and sign David's guest book.
