BHS planning alumni basketball game on March 21

| February 11, 2009 11:00 PM

Bigfork High School has set up an alumni basketball game, which it hopes will become an annual event that brings the community and school together.

The game is set for March 21. The alumni women will take on the BHS girls basketball team at 2 p.m. and the men will take on the boys at 3:30 p.m. at the BHS gym.

Brumar Estates and the Garden Bar will provide a spaghetti dinner in the Bigfork Middle School cafeteria following the games at about 5 p.m.

BHS alumni, who played varsity basketball and graduated 10 years ago or more, that are interested in playing in the games should contact the event organizers Brenda Jordt, for the women’s game, 261-0390, and Matt Porrovecchio, for the men’s game, 837-7420.

Tickets should be purchased in advance at Electric Avenue Gifts, Flathead Bank of Bigfork, Bigfork Drug, Sliter’s of Bigfork and the BHS and BMS offices.

Admission is $5 for students and seniors, $10 for adults and $25 for a family of up to five.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Maurice Dale, a Bigfork school bus driver who recently encountered medical problems. In future years the school will continue to donate funds from the event to an individual or group in the community.
