Flip your turn signal

| December 24, 2009 11:00 PM

To the editor,

As road conditions have become more difficult, it seems many people choose to forget about or are ignorant of others on the road.

Every vehicle is equipped with a lever that sticks out the left side of a steering column. This lever is called a "turn signal." It informs other vehicles around you that you intend to slow down. On slippery, snow-packed roads, extra time is needed to slow a vehicle. Therefore, by using a turning signal, you may be saving your own vehicle and preserving your safety by not getting rear-ended.
