Local TV districts make switch

Two local television districts have made the switch to digital in the last few weeks, which should give viewers a clearer picture, but possibly a few headaches.

Both Blacktail TV District and Swan Hill TV District, which together serve the greater North Flathead Lake area, converted their signals for multiple channels to digital as part of the federally mandated change that has been going on nation-wide.

The change means that viewers will need either a newer model television that can decode the new signal, or a converter box for their old set.

Blacktail TV has gone digital on channels 15 (KPAX and CW Network) and 19 (KTMF and KMMF Fox) and Swan Hill concerted channels 12 (CBS) and 5 (ABC).

Viewers need to re-scan their television sets or converter boxes to receive these channels.

Any viewers in the Blacktail TV District should contact Steven Fite with questions at 249-3251. Those in the Swan Hill TV District, which includes Ferndale and the lower Swan Valley, can visit www.swanhilltv.net for more information.
