Hunter education sign-ups Aug. 27

Registration for the Columbia Falls Hunter Education Course will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27 and Monday Aug. 31 at the Columbia Falls City Hall Council Chambers. Hours on both days is 6 to 8 p.m.

Classes will be held at Columbia Falls High School (east entrance) from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 and 24. The field course will be held on Sept. 26, with the written test on Sept. 28.

All hunter education classes are free of charge and open to hunters and non-hunters alike. By state law, anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985 must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. The minimum age for hunting in Montana is 12. At registration, a parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to sign the registration form.
