Letters to the editorLakeside Shoreline Park Plans Available for Comment

| August 13, 2009 11:00 PM

The proposed Lakeside park plan is available through September 30 for public viewing and comment at the West Shore Community Library, 100 Bierney Creek Road, Lakeside. The library is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. For library information call 844-3917.

The concept drawing was prepared by Bruce Boody, Landscape Architects, Whitefish. The Lakeside Parks Advisory committee unveiled it at the Lakeside Fair July 18.

With the purchase of the Bayshore Motel in July, the park plans were adjusted to incorporate an expanded lakeshore and additional parking. Including Flathead County's existing Adams St boat ramp and public dock, there will be approximately 190 feet of uninterrupted lake frontage.

Consideration is also being given to reusing portions of the Bayshore building as a community room with attached rest rooms. The park plan is for day use only. The paved parking area will be for passenger vehicles only. Oversized RVs and trailer towing vehicles cannot be accommodated because of space limitations. All of the park will be ADA accessible.
