Harold Hale

Harold Wendell Hale, 86, died Sept. 30, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Whitefish.

He was born in Whitefish on Dec. 13, 1921, to Sidney Benjamin Hale and Christina Kirk Hale.

He graduated from Whitefish High School. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served in the Philippine Islands.

Harold worked as a heavy-duty equipment operator in various areas in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of Whitefish VFW, Eagles and Moose Lodge.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and brother Arnold Hale.

He is survived by his brother Doug, of Columbia Falls; nephew Martin Hale and wife Eleanor, of Whitefish; and nieces Sydnie Watson and husband Paul, Sandra Unger and husband Tom, and Carol Hale, all of Whitefish.

Cremation has taken place.
