With a single crack of his bat, Twins hitter Bridger Beach sent the Libby Loggers home with a loss Friday night.

It was a fine pitching performance by both the Libby Loggers and the Glacier Twins on Friday. The Twins needed only one extra inning to end it with the long bomb over the fence by Beach to seal the deal.

Glacier Twins' Dustin Von Feldt's two-out home run in the sixth inning tied the game and Bridger Beach's solo shot to lead off the eighth to deep center gave the AA Twins a 4-3 American Legion baseball victory Friday night over Libby.

"The pitching was the highlight of the game, but it was a well played game by both teams," said head coach Ryan Hadfield. "Neither team hit particularly well."

Hadfield said the two late homers got his young squad fired up.

"We've been waiting for that," he said. "We've kind of been expecting Bridger to lose one for a while now. He's been putting some good swings on balls."

Hadfield said his team's lack of offensive production has little to do with fundamentals or anything that can't easily be corrected.

"We just need to quit thinking so much and turn it loose," he said. "We actually have been looking a lot better lately."

Ryan Caron, Brad Neilson and Scott Palmer each had one hit for the Twins. Wade Martinsen had two hits.

Ryan Stapley led Libby, going 2-for-3 and driving in one run.

The Twins head to Canada for a tournament this weekend.
