Alice Stocking

Alice Stocking passed away peacefully at North Valley Hospital on June 7, 2008.

She was born to Charles and Florence Lare on Dec. 23, 1933, in Denver, Colo.

She attended Park College and studied domestic engineering before moving to San Diego to work for Ryan Aeronautical as an executive secretary. While there, she met her future husband, Ed Stocking. They were married Aug. 2, 1958 in San Diego and raised three children.

Alice was active in the Boy Scouts of America, the First Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, the America Red Cross and the Roper Organization as a census field interviewer.

Alice adored her grandchildren, bad jokes, game shows and crossword puzzles, and the community of Whitefish.

She is survived by her son Brian Stocking and his children Sasha Stocking and Skyler Stocking, of Long Beach, Calif.; son Bradley Stocking, his wife Karen and their children Kristina Stocking and Matthew Stocking, of Reno, Nev.; daughter Sue Ann Tomlinson and her husband Ray, of Reno, Nev.; and brother Charles Lare, of San Diego.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Whitefish with a light lunch reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 301 Central Avenue, Whitefish MT 59937 and the North Valley Hospital Foundation.
