Ray Hanson

Ray S. Hanson, 73, of Eureka, died of natural causes May 31, 2008, at his home in Eureka.

He was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Leeds, N.D., to Howard and Berny Gresdal Hanson. He moved to Eureka at an early age, where he grew up and attended school.

Ray graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1953. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged.

He married Harryette Holmes in 1963. Together they had three daughters.

He married Peggy Bradley in 1984 in Kalispell.

Ray worked in the woods most of his life as a logger. He loved driving around the woods.

Survivors include his wife Peggy, of Eureka; daughters Shonda Morrison and husband Jon, of Kalispell, Rhonda Kearney, of Kalispell, and Shelly Bugni and husband Jefre Sr., of Bakersfield, Calif.; stepchildren Krystal Weaver and husband Ryan, of Centralia, Wash., and Bob Spencer Jr. and wife Lori, of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren Calder, Tanner, Cody, Cory, Jefre II, Janae, Brandon, Kenedee, Trevor and Taylor; brothers Harvey Hanson and wife Mona, and Stan Hanson and wife Leola, all of Whitefish.

Services will take place at the First Baptist Church in Eureka on Friday, June 6, at 3 p.m. Arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Eureka.
