Mountain bike race series begins

The first installment of Whitefish Mountain Resort's Thursday Night Race League began last Thursday with a great turnout of riders from all over the Flathead Valley.

Nearly 80 bikers turned out for the race, making this event more and more popular as the years go by.

The seven-week series will continue through the first week of September and highlight many of the resort's best trails.

Each week, a three-four mile race loop offers racers an opportunity to ride a variety of trails, win prizes and hang out with other like-minded bikers.

The race league offers the chance to race in a non intimidating atmosphere amongst all abilities of bikers.
