Search for boys varsity basketball coach continues

Although Bigfork High School has yet to find a new boys basketball coach to replace Jim Epperly, who stepped down last month, the team is still participating in open gyms and working hard, according to BHS Activities Director Matt Jensen.

Community members Brenda and Thad Jordt have been supervising the open gym for the team.

The boys team has no further tournament or camp commitments this summer, so Jensen said that will not be an issue.

"We have had great community support to help them through the summer, but we are very actively looking for a coach for the season," Jensen said.

The school is looking for someone who has coaching experience, a positive attitude, and an ability to work with, and develop, student athletes.

The school is still accepting applications for the position. Anyone interested should contact Matt Jensen at 257-1906.

The BHS Vikings went 6-12 last season and put up a strong showing in the Northwest A Divisional tournament in Kalispell, losing to Polson and eventual champ Ronan and in close games.
