Dallas Birr

Dallas Jack Birr, 66, died of pancreatic cancer on Feb. 18, 2008, in Kenmore, Wash.

He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Whitefish. He graduated from Whitefish High School and Montana State University, in Bozeman.

Dallas worked for Glacier National Park, the U.S. Forest Service and Burlington Northern Railway. He served as a civil engineer for the Navy and a senior construction inspector and civil engineer for the Port of Seattle.

He married Diane Weed on July 30, 1962. They later moved to Spokane and Kenmore.

Survivors include his father Wilbur Birr, brother Jerry Birr and sister Pam Staab, all of Spokane, Wash.; son Dan Birr and wife Tiffanie, of Bothell, Wash., and their daughters Shyla and Elyce; daughter Delana Keo and husband Renny, of Bothell, and their sons Keala and Kekoa and daughter Kiana and their grandchild Kalaka Keo; and daughter Dana Wilk and husband Steve, of Bellevue, Wash., and their daughter Kathleen and son Stefan.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at noon at St. John Vianney Church, in Kirkland.
