Carl Naldrett

Carl Allen Naldrett, Jr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, surrounded by his family at home in Evergreen. He was born on May 19, 1923 in Salt Creek, Wyo., to Carl Allen and Cleata (Cochran) Naldrett, Sr.

Carl received his early education attending school in Oilmont. He then worked in the ship yards in Seattle, Wash., until joining the Army in 1940. He served four years in the service as a paratrooper and was honorably discharged in 1944. He moved to Coram where he met and married Edna M. Monroe Aug. 31, 1946 in Kalispell. He received a job with Highball Oil Corp and moved to Cutbank. It was there they started their family. Carl got hurt and the family moved back to Coram, then to Oregon where he worked for Evans Plywood from 1950 to 1960.  The family moved to Sisters, Ore., where he worked as a youth minister for three years, from there to Browning, about 1963. Their family lived for 23 years in Browning (Blackfoot Reservation Canada). In 1983, he was a Deacon, Minister of Visitation and a staff minister at the Riverside Vineyard Church in Kalispell. He ministered up to the end.

He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed woodworking.When he was young he loved to fish. He had high interest in missions and seeing the gospel preached around the world. He always looked to help the down and out.

Carl was preceded in death by two sons, Sam in 1987 and Virgil in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna Naldrett of Kalispell; sons, Daniel Naldrett and wife Ruth, Hugh A. Naldrett and wife Dale, and Tim Naldrett and wife Mary Ann, all of Kalispell; Carl Naldrett and wife Joy of Columbia Falls; daughters, Joanne Alejandre and husband Fidel, Jeanne French and husband Scott, all of Kalispell, and Rebecca Phillips and husband Jay of Helena; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Hoover of Clifford, Ind.; and brother, Bill Broun of Texas.

Funeral services for Carl were held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Riverside Vineyard Church with Pastor Paul Arends officiating. Burial followed at the Glacier Memorial Gardens. There was a wake service at the church Friday night, Dec. 12.
