Ten Commandments
Recently my husband erected Ten Commandment signs on our property north of Bigfork. We were saddened when, five days later, we found someone had thrown paint on both sides of one sign. As natives of the Flathead Valley we have seen many changes in our lifetime. This incident, however, proved that this is home to many people who still believe in property rights, freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
We were inundated wtih calls from people all over the valley and there is not space enough to list all the offers we received. Several people offered money to purchase a new sign, others offered plastic to cover it and others offered products to clean the sign. Another group wanted to pay for having the sign raised and lights installed and one fellow bought a cleaner and cleaned the paint off. To them we offer a heartfelt thank-you. Also, we are praying that those who vandalized the sign will not only discontinue these acts but they will come to know the God who loves them and ultimately realize that if they follow His commandments, they can experience a life of joy, peace and fulfillment.
