Lots of awards handed out at football banquet

Four Whitefish Bulldogs received all-conference honors at the annual banquet Tuesday night — guard Dustin Beck, receiver Aaron Tkachyk, tackle Dylan Dryden and defensive end Josh Backer.

Second team all-conference selections were defensive tackle Tyson Ferda, inside linebacker Dustin Beck, safety Matt Whitehead and fullback Derek Crittenden.

Honorable mention selections were center Sean Sagen, slot receiver Alex Elespuru and outside linebacker Derek Crittenden.

The team also presented several of their own awards. Tkachyk was named the Most Valuable Player for offense, and Beck was named the MVP for defense. Most improved players were junior running back Daniel Simmons and junior wide receiver Kalin Hale.

The scout team player of the year was Orrin Dugan, and the 12th Man Award went to former player and film technician Trent Mortensen.
