It was a Bulldog rampage Saturday at the south end of the lake.
The Whitefish Lady Bulldog spikers went on the road and swept Polson 3-0 in Northwestern Class A volleyball action on Sep 1.
Ashley Ferda recorded 16 kills, Brielle Menegazzi added seven digs, and Hailey Farmin had 23 assists as the Bulldogs notched wins of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-11 on the day.
“I felt the girls did a real nice job,” said head coach Jackie Fuller. “It was a good start for us.”
Molly Filipek notched five aces for Whitefish. The Bulldogs had 36 total kills on the day.
Nicole Davey led Polson with six kills, one stuff block and 12 digs.
Fuller said her team has a few things to work on, mainly defense, but she feels good about where her team is at.
“Everyone’s competing, staying aggressive,” she said. “Polson’s a real scrappy ballclub.”
Fuller said she was impressed with everyone on the team, but that several key players stood out. Fuller was particularly impressed by Molly Filipek’s serving ability.
She also mentioned Ashley Ferda’s offensive talent, along with Brielle Menegazzi and Hailey Farmin.
The lady Bulldogs travel to Hamilton this weekend for a tip-off tournament. They will get a chance to play all the southwest teams, including teams like Dillon and Corvallis that might show up at the state tournament, Fuller said.
