Uptown Merchants meet Oct. 11
Columbia Falls Uptown Merchants Association (CFUMA) meets on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at Arrowhead Fine Art & Framing at 422 Nucleus Ave., across from Smith's. Special guest Connie McCubbins will speak about the Nov. 30 Night of Lights and Sally Petersen will be sharing information on a future Farmers' Market.
Pachyderm meets Oct. 12
The Glacier Country Pachyderm meeting will be held Friday, Oct. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Bulldog in Kalispell. The guest speaker will be Kirk Bushman of Billings, a U.S. Senate candidate. Lunch is $4 to $10 and the meeting is open to the public. The Pachyderm now meets weekly.
Columbians Jazz Band garage sale Oct. 13
The Columbians Jazz Band will have its annual garage sale and fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Columbia Falls High School cafeteria.
Arts, Crafts Show Oct. 13-14
The 22nd annual Glacier Autumn Arts and Crafts Show is Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13-14 at the Izaak Walton Inn in Essex, south of Glacier National Park and off U.S. Highway 2. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Featured will be Montana artists exclusively and there will be displays from more than 30 crafts people, all arranged indoors in the heated pavilion.

Quilting course begins
Salena Beckwith will be conducting a quilting course, sponsored by the Columbia Falls Adult Education Program. This six-week course begins on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Columbia Falls High School. The course fee is $30, which allows use of the sewing machines.

CFYSA meeting Oct. 23
Columbia Falls Youth Softball Association (CFYSA) will have a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center in Columbia Falls. The public is invited to attend.
Board member positions are open and those who may be interested in applying must submit a letter of interest to the board. It must include why you want to become a member and what talents you would bring to the association. Please bring your letter to the meeting.

Vista Chapter meets Oct. 27
Vista Chapter No. 44, O.E.S., will have special session on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Columbia Falls Masonic Temple. The occasion is the official visit of Gayle Holland of Forsyth, worthy grand matron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Montana.
Mo Veerkamp, Victor, worthy grand patron, will be among guests attending from throughout Montana.
Local officers presiding are PGM Eddy Lou Benson, worthy matron, and Curtis Peterson, worthy patron.
