Joan Schultz

Joan Schultz, 83, formerly of Essex, passed away May 22, 2007, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Park County, Wyo., the youngest child of Thomas Edward and Mary (Warren) Smith.

Joan moved with her family to Butte, where she met and married the love of her life, Alfred Schultz on Feb. 13, 1947. They resided in Essex, where Alfred was employed by the Great Northern Railroad.

Joan was a homemaker and the mother of two children, Christie and Philip. Joan enjoyed picking huckleberries, riding her bicycle, sewing and being a wife and mother.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Robert and Philip; and sisters Mabel and Kathleen.

She is survived by her husband Alfred Schultz, of Kalispell; her son Philip Schultz, of Kalispell; her daughter Christine Calhoun and husband George, of Butte; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher Calhoun, of Butte.

Graveside services for Joan Eleanor Schultz were held May 30, 2007, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
