Cody Kolodejchuk beat Austin Zapata, 4-3 for third at 130.

The Cats took 17th as a team at the Classic. Flathead won the meet.

Last Thursday, the Cats lost a tight dual to Polson that featured six forfeits, 50-43.

Columbia Falls gave up forfeits at 152, 171 and 189. They picked up a forfeit at 105 and neither team had wrestlers at 98 or 140.

The Cats get a week off, then travel to Libby Jan. 26 and then have a mini-tourney here Jan. 27 where they'll face Hamilton, Eureka and Ronan. Wrestling starts at 1:30 p.m. and runs through the day.

On Tuesday, the Cats downed Whitefish 43-24 in a dual that featured as many forfeits as matches.

Getting wins for the Cats outside of forfeits were Casey Stewart, 130, pinned Kevin Kuntz, Kolodejchuck, 135, over Cody Morris, 16-6, Michael Hader, 145, pinned Kaleb Prestegaard, Jesse Woodward downed Jake Scheel at 189.

Travis Pete lost a tough match against Kevin Kaltschmidt, 11-5 and Kodie Kenfield, 215 lost 3-1 to Kevin McDowell. Coach Jesse Schaeffer said it was nice to get the dual win, but he was really hoping Pete and Kenfield could have got wins as well.

Still, the boys did pretty well coming off a long week of wrestling.
