Whitefish hosts boys divisionals this weekend
The third-seeded Whitefish Bulldogs take on the sixth-seeded Polson Pirates today at 6 p.m. in the first round of Northwest A basketball divisionals this week.
The tournament will be held at the Whitefish High School gym through Saturday.
Coach Julio Delgado has led the Bulldogs to win seven out of the past nine games in the last half of regular season play.
That's a real improvement over the 1-9 record the team had for the first nine games of regular-season play. The Bulldog's record stands at 8-10 (7-5).
Kenny Overcast will not be playing in divisionals, but he will be back on the court if the team makes it to state.
The Bulldogs may wind up playing some tough games against Eureka or Columbia Falls, so it's going to be an exciting contest.
This year, Whitefish lost one and won one against Eureka, but the 'Dawgs lost both games against the Wildcats.
Fourth-seeded Ronan, fifth-seeded Libby, and seventh seeded Bigfork also play in the tournament.
