Free clinic very professional

| December 6, 2007 11:00 PM

Thank you all for your time and devotion to the people you serve. I arrived at your clinic in great pain due to a pinched sciatic nerve (those who have had this condition know of what I speak).

I had let it go untreated for six months, hoping it would heal on its own. It did not. I was also reluctant to seek medical attention because of my financial situation. I am a single father of two boys and, like a large percentage of individuals, I have no health insurance (my boys are on CHIP).

When I first arrived at your clinic, it was full of people needing your attention and care. With professionalism and respect, all were served, and I saw none turned away. The reception and intake personnel, as well as the nurses and doctors I saw, treated me kindly and with much empathy.

I was referred to North Valley Hospital for an MRI, then to an orthopedic specialist. He then referred me back to North Valley for an epidural shot of cortisone, of which I have now had two.

All of these services were provided without charge. I received thousands of dollars of care due to generous donations of time and money from the people and professionals of Whitefish. As I sit and type this letter, I am without pain for the first time since June.

I am not a religious person, but I do consider myself spiritual. I thank the people at Christ Lutheran Church for serving all regardless of faith. All those associated with Shepherd’s Hand Clinic are an inspiration and from the bottom of my heart (and back).

I thank you all.
