Margaret Martin Swigart

Margaret Martin Swigart, 92, died at 9 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2007 at The Hearth at Windemere in Fishers, Ind.

She was born in Chester, Penn., on Aug. 10, 1915 to Jacob and Lena Martin. She was the last survivor of 11 children. She married James Swigart in 1947 and they moved to Columbia Falls in 1955 where they operated the Bad Rock Canyon Motel. In September of 2004 they moved to Fishers, Ind., with the encouragement of their granddaughters and their families due to declining health. In August of 2005, Jim died and now the devoted couple are once again united.

Survivors include her loving daughter Dolores Simon and husband William of Silverthorne, Colo.; granddaughters Margaret Heck and husband Tim and Sarah Ruch and husband, Will; a grandson James Simon and wife, Emilie, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; a great-niece, Cori Ryniker of Houston, Texas; and two great-nephews, Phil Kaufman of Wilmington, N.C., and Clay Zyerveld of Columbia Falls.

A family gathering and celebration of the wonderful life of Margaret was held and everyone expressed their happy memories of this talented lady.
