Firemen's ball

The 31st annual Coram-West Glacier Firemen's ball and dance is Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. at the Dew Drop Inn in Coram. The Don Lawrence Orchestra will provide entertainment. A raffle for a $1,000 shopping spree at Bitney's will be held and there will be other great auction items and prizes.

Le Grizz

The 25th annual Le Grizz 50 Mile Ultramarathon is Saturday, Oct. 14 along the west side of Hungry Horse Reservoir. The foot race, sponsored by the Cheetah Herders Athletic Club, is managed primarily to get first-time ultra-distance runners to the finish line. The completion rate over the past 24 years of the event is 95 percent.

Interested runners can find information and registration materials at www.cheetahherders.com. Registration deadline is Sept. 30.

Car show

Rocky Mountain Street Machines will be having a car show at Able Body Shop in Kalispell on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate or attend. For additional information call Kavin at 892-7218.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce has its first meeting Sept. 12 at 11: 30 a.m. at the North Valley Community Room. Come and welcome the new teachers.

Open House

Funtastic Finds vintage revival boutique will have an open house Sept. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at its location on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls on the corner of Sixth Street.

Golf scramble

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will host its Barbecue and Golf Scramble Sept. 10 at the Glacier View Golf Course in West Glacier. The Golf Scramble starts at 2 p.m. The cost to participate is $12 per person. Reservations for the event must be made by Sept. 5. Call Mary at 892-6818 or Carol at 892-2072.

Music workshop

Students in grades 4-12 are urged to register for the Young Americans Music Workshop - Sept. 17-19. Other interested students can get registration packets from their school music teacher.

The first 200 registrations received will benefit from a discount of $17, having to pay only $30 for the workshop. A performance featuring the Young Americans and students is Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school gym. Tickets at the door are $8 and students $5. Walk for diabetes

The Kalispell Lions Club is holding a walk for diabetes fundraiser at Lawrence Park Sept. 16. Event starts at 9 a.m. The event is designed to raise funds and awareness of diabetes. Call 751-5454 if you're interested or have any questions.
