Smith has solutions

| October 25, 2006 11:00 PM

There are many problems in America today and no simple solutions. It seems obvious to me that if we were to invest wisely in public education, many of society's problems would melt away.

Right now, we are faced with education funding cuts and the elimination of programs that keep students interested and committed to their own education. We need to fund these programs and ensure the programs we currently have are fiscally responsible.

As a tax payer and future educator in Montana, I trust Ric Smith, candidate for Senate District 5, to speak for my future and the future of this state.

Ric Smith and I were having coffee one day and Ric said something that has stuck in my mind: In Montana, we are fortunate to live in a state where the individual has the power to make a difference.

As a private citizen, Ric has already made a difference for Montana by protecting our rights to clean water and access public lands in the Valley.

Now, I know he will protect both our children and grandchildren's right to a quality education, and the tax payer's right to have fiscally responsible schools.

Ric Smith has my vote.
