Jerry Langton
Jerry Dennis Langton packed a lot of living into his 57 years of life. Always ready for a good time and surrounded by friends, Jerry spent endless hours riding his Harley, golfing, fishing and camping. He was also an avid snowmobiler prior to losing a courageous fight with cancer.
Jerry was the sole proprietor of Langton Excavation and enjoyed his work immensely. He was very respected in his profession and often stated that "every construction project starts with a hole in the ground."
Born to Dennis and Birdie Langton in Baudette, Minn., on July 29, 1949, Jerry joined his only brother Larry, who was his best friend until Larry's death in 1989. Debbie, his only sister, was well protected by both big brothers throughout their lives and currently resides in Spokane, Wash., with her husband Scott Gallaher and two sons.
Preceded in death by his brother and parents, he is survived by his wife Patricia Langton; his son Shawn; daughter-in-law Rebecca and two grandsons, of Anchorage, Alaska; stepdaughter Stacy Necessary and Jim Cook, of Jacksonville, Fla., and stepson Shawn; and daughter-in-law Holly and four grandchildren, of Lemoore, Calif.; various aunts, uncles, cousins, one nephew and one niece; and hundreds of friends.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24th at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. Cremation has taken place, and internment at Glacier Memorial will be at a later date. Friends and family will gather at the VFW in Whitefish following the service.
