Rummage sale
The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is having their annual rummage sale this Friday Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday Oct. 7, 9 a.m.-noon, If you have donations please bring them to the Circle Plaza building 110 Nucleus Ave. Bev at Curves next door will be happy to assist you. Proceeds support the Christmas Village.
Soccer tryouts
Glacier United will have its spring select soccer tryouts Oct. 15 at the Smith Fields in Whitefish. U-11 through U-18 girls are from noon to 2:30 p.m. and U-11 through U-18 girls are from 2-4 p.m. Call 892-1323 for more information.
Chamber meets
The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce meets at noon Oct. 10 at the North Valley Community Building. Guest speaker is Chuck Roady of F.H. Stoltze Land and Lumber.
Open house
Bitterroot Wireless will have its open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 12 at the former Melby's Interior Building on U.S. Highway 2 West. Snacks will be served. Everyone is welcome.
Decorating reminder
The Columbia Falls fall decorating contest is underway and folks are reminded to have their displays done by Oct. 9 with the winner announced at the Chamber meeting.
Lunch pail pals
The Big Brother and Big Sisters are looking for folks to be lunch pail pals for elementary school children. Spend lunch with a child and enrich their lives. Call 892-6570 ext. 230 for more information.
Glacier fundraiser
A celebration of Glacier National Park under a full moon, high atop Big Mountain in Whitefish. Evening includes gondola ride, dinner, no host bar, and lore and legends of Glacier National Park. Tickets $65 per person/available in advance or at the gondola on Oct. 6 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Call the Glacier Fund at 862-6110.
For the birds
Flathead Audubon is selling 50 pound sacks of black oil sunflower seeds for $19 a sack. These seeds are of the highest quality and grown in Montana. Purchases help fund local conservation and education programs. Place your order by Oct. 14 and take delivery on Oct. 21. To order, call Mike Fanning at 862-8070.
Trapper ed
Registration is now open for the annual Trapper Education Course, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lawrence Park in Kalispell. This will be the only trapper education course offered this year in northwest Montana, so all interested persons are urged to attend. To register for the course, stop by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks on North Meridian Road.
