Peggy Jo (Chase) Cherry

Peggy Jo (Chase) Cherry, 57, of Yakima, Wash., passed away Sept. 26, 2006, from an extended illness. She was at home surrounded by her family.

Peggy was born Nov. 27, 1948, in San Francisco to Earl and Helen (Gentile) Chase. She grew up in Whitefish, and she graduated from Columbia Falls High School. In 1977, she married Melvin Cherry, in Moses Lake, Wash. They moved to Yakima in 1980, where they raised their three sons.

Peggy enjoyed planting flowers in front of her home and gathering at get-togethers with family and friends, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Peggy was always lending a helping hand to anyone who was in need.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Mel; sons Brian and wife Amy, Joshua and Jason; grandchildren Gianni, Hailey and Jason; and brothers Dick Chase, of Libby, Fred Chase, of Bigfork, and Mike Chase, of Moses Lake.

A celebration of Peggy's life was held at the Yakima Eagles Lodge on Sept. 30.
