Diane Marie Davis

Diane Marie Davis was born in St Joseph, Missouri on March 31, 1946, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Poolman. She grew up in Kansas City and Golden, Colorado. She was an alumni of Golden High School and Western State College in Gunnison, CO. She earned bachelors of arts in music and secondary education in 1968. She distinguished herself playing the French horn in many ensembles, and earned recognition performing at the 1964/1965 New York World's Fair. Her talents also shined as a soprano vocalist in numerous musicals.

Diane met and married Robert Davis in 1970, while teaching music in Jefferson County, CO. The couple adventured across the American west and settled in Montana in 1972. They operated the Running Wild Ranch and a surveying company in the town of Bigfork. Diane gave birth to her son, Shannon, in1973 and later, the family made their homes in CO, MA, VA, N. H, and CA. In 1990, they moved to South Yarmouth. Where she taught special needs in John Simpkins Elementary School. Diane was distinguished by her phenomenal compassion, caring nature and spirit for adventure. She cared warmly for animals, maintained a passion for teaching, singing. She was an avid gardener, reader, outdoors woman and culinary wizard. She is survived by her son, and his wife, Xujing

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Hallett Funeral Home 273 Station Ave South Yarmouth followed by a service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to The South Yarmouth United Methodist Church, 322 Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA 02664
