Sees problems with incumbent

| November 1, 2006 11:00 PM

Monica Lindeen deserves your vote for U.S. Congress. The first contact I had with Monica Lindeen was when she was the chair of the Montana Quality for Education Committee. She was chosen by her fellow legislators to chair the high profile and heavily tasked group of legislators.

I participated in a tele-conference with her and was impressed with her knowledge and leadership ability during that call and as chair of the committee. Since then, I have continued to be impressed. Each time I meet her, I see her passion for the people of Montana.

Lindeen is running as a Democrat for the lone seat in Montana. In representing Montana, her list of priorities will include keeping public lands public, increasing the minimum wage, supporting small businesses with fair taxes and helping them provide health benefits to their employees.

She is an example of supporting alternative energy by driving around the state in her bio-diesel bus. Her number one priority is listening to Montana citizens and finding solutions.

Her Republican opponent, Rep. Denny Rehberg, believes in selling off our state lands to real estate interests and votes for a pay raise for himself but votes against a minimum wage increase.

He has taken $200,000 from oil and gas lobbyists. Unfortunately, Montana's Denny Rehberg got involved in the U.S. House scandal by accepting $19,500 from Tom DeLay's ARMPAC. We can't let someone with these connections run our only Montana seat in the U.S. Congress.

Lindeen is a respected, four-time winner to the Montana House of Representatives from conservative Yellowstone County. They know her well. I ask you to trust their choice and mine.

She is sincere, sensible and comes from the grassroots of Montana. She will represent you fairly and take Montana values to the U.S. Congress. It's time for a change. Cast your vote for Monica Lindeen.
