Let Crowley guide future growth

| November 1, 2006 11:00 PM

My wife and I have been residents of this valley for 31 years. During this time we have seen and experienced the deteriation of the quality of living in this valley. It has been the result of too little planning and the lack of conviction by previous county commissioners to enforce the planning that was in place.

Now is a critical time to elect a county commissioner who will help formlulate a good growth policy and then make sure that it is followed.

We could elect Mr. Lauman, whose self-stated credential is "common sense" or, we could elect Mark Crowley whose credentials include former senior planner for Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Flathead County. He has been Chairman for the Association of Montana Floodplain Managers. His current position is that of construction manager in the Public Works Department for the city of Kalispell.

After having met Mark and learning of his past experience and the goals he has as a county commissioner, we feel that he is the most qualified candidate that the county has ever had for this office.

If your loyalty to your party is greater than your concerns for the future of this valley, then vote for Mr. Lauman but, if your concerns are for maintaining the qualities that make this vallley special, vote for Mark Crowley and let him help guide our future growth.
