William E. Bivens

William E. Bivens, 71, long time Columbia Falls resident passed away from an unexpected illness Jan. 9, 2006.

He was residing in Queen Creek, Ariz., at the time of his passing. Bill was born January 20, 1934, in Meadow Bluff, W.Va., to Iona Judy and Robert Bivens. Upon completion of high school Bill enlisted in the Air Force at which time he met the love of his life Carolyn Bartos. The two married and traveled various parts of the United States before settling in Columbia Falls. Bill was an iron worker for many years working various projects throughout the Northwest. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn and son Billy.

He is survived by his mother Iona Clemons, of Belle W.Va., brother Fred Bivens also of Belle W.Va., daughter Maryleigh Darling of Whitefish, son Michael Bivens of Gilbert, Ariz., and son Jerry Bivens of Kalispell. His much loved grandchildren Evan, Charlie and Kara Darling, Ashleigh, Briauna, Brooklynn and Bridjer Bivens and great granddaughter Skylar Gustafson.

Many things about Bill will be missed, especially his art for making people laugh. He always had a trick up his sleeve of practical jokes to pull on anyone he could. His warm smile and kind heart will forever be missed.
