Track teams take third at Polson meet

Columbia Falls track squads did well in their last regular season meet of the year, taking third on both the the boys and girls side.

Keith Catt led the boys with a second in the discus (138-9) and a third in the shot put (47-10).

Also scoring for the Cats were Jack Scherman, fifth in the both the 110 and 300 hurdles (16.87 and 43.01) and Kevin Boyer was fifth in the javelin (135-9).

Nick Beckwith took third in the discus at 132-9, Andrew Sweeney was fifth with a 125-2.

Scherman was also tied for third in the high jump at 5-10.

Boyer did well in the triple jump, taking third with a 43-1 and Kyle Jangula took fourth with a 42-5.

The boys placed behind Whitefish, who won and Polson, who took second.

The girls also took third behind Frenchtown, who was first and Livingston, second.

The boys took fifth in the 400 relay and fourth in the 400 relay.

Emily Stoltz led the girls with a win in the pole vault at 8-0, followed by Ketti Wilhelm, 7-6 and Teresa Byrd, 7-6, all tied for third.

Jessica Boyer had a second place finish in the 800 and a time of 2:29.43

Boyers also took fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:43.71.

Jessica Davis came through big in the javelin, taking second with a throw of 107 even.

Ketti Wilhelm was fourth in the high jump, 4-8; Amber Lampman was fourth in the long jump, 15-1 and second in the triple at 33-2.

Teammate Lisa Carter tied her at 15-1 in the long jump.
