Brown supports Beck for House

| May 17, 2006 11:00 PM

It was my great honor to represent the people of Whitefish and the surrounding area in the state legislature for 26 years. During that period of time, I came to personally know several hundred other citizens from around our state who served in the legislature with me. I developed a fair understanding, I think, of the attributes of an effective legislator. Bill Beck has them.

Bill is a hard worker and a straight-shooter. He has broad experience both as a public administrator and civic leader. I've known him for about 15 years, and in that time have had numerous discussions with him.

I know Bill is first and foremost a practical problem solver. His instincts are conservative, but he is far more fascinated by looking for practical solutions to the problems of government than implementing political ideology.

Bill is also eminently approachable. He enjoys people and visits easily. That is an essential characteristic for a representative of the people. He has volunteered his time to numerous local projects and services. No one I know is more generous with his time than Bill Beck.

We need Bill's experience, practical common sense and balanced judgment effectively representing the Whitefish area in the state legislature.

I ask my fellow residents of House District 6 to join me in voting for Bill Beck for state representative in the Republican primary on June 6.
