Senior elections

A Election of officers is business when North Valley Senior Citizens, Inc., meets Friday, April 7, at their Center.

Three directors and a secretary are to be elected. Candidates are Esther Hutchinson, secretary; Marion Andrew, Marian Fairbanks, Andy Koch, Juanita Lind, director candidates. Three are to be named.

Incumbent officers are Gladys Shay, president; Jim Grant, vice president; Vonda McCubbins, secretary; Jim Marantette, treasurer; with Marvel Lucas and Marie Trodick, directors. Terms of Ollie Coburn, Ed DeReu and Ernie Weaver, directors, are expiring.

Election tellers are Marie Basaraba, June Bloomer and Betty Boyd.

Members must have 2006-2007 dues paid by March 31 to cast ballots. Election hours are between 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Potluck dinner will be served at noon.

Jammers will play for traditional Friday afternoon entertainment.

Wilderness films

The Montana Wilderness Association is having the International Wildlife Film festival again this year. it will be at the O'Shaughnessy theater in Whitefish at 7 p.m. on April 7, 2006. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children. Children under age 5 or any child in an animal costume will be admitted free. For more information contact Susie Waldron at 756-6027.

Community prom

The community prom, hosted by the junior class, is 8-11 p.m. April 7 at the high school. The Don Lawrence Orchestra will provide musical entertainment.The high school prom is the following evening.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce meets from noon to 1 p.m. April 11 at the North Valley Community Building. Guest speaker is Karl Skindingsrude.

Spring concert

The Columbia Falls Community Choir will have its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. Sunday April 9 at the High School Little Theater. The concert is free and open to the public. The choir was started more than 20 years ago by Ron Bond. Selections include Impossible Dream, make Our Garden Grow, The Prayer, Once Upon a Time and O Magnify the Lord With Me.

Lion's Pancakes

The Columbia Falls Lions Club pancake breakfast is at the Senior Center from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 22.

Quilters show

The Teakettle Quilters will have their annual quilt show at the North Valley Community Room April 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Motocross

The annual Mountain Madness Motocross is April 30 starting at 8 a.m. in Hungry Horse. Call 892-1776 for more info.
