Must love dogs

I am writing to clarify a simple point. First, just a note: I've owned and loved dogs all my life, and this is not a personal issue about me. I am a citizen of the U.S., fourth-generation Montanan and a long-time active resident of Whitefish.

I believe it is my civic responsibility to voice an opinion about how our limited resources are expended, be it tax dollars or the last piece of open space in a public park. I'm bemused by the personal attacks that opinion generated, and further amused by the obvious fear of open dialog.

I urge my fellow citizens to express your opinion to our wonderful park staff at the city offices. They are developing a master plan for the Armory Park area and want input from us.

Your voice counts, and yes, I mean every voice.
