Thanking people who 'Care'
Thanks for your great coverage of CARE and the Whitefish Community Center. It gives us great pleasure to provide programs and positive environments to meet the needs of our communities youth and families.
Please note the correct Web address for WCC is http://web.mac.com/wfish/iWeb/Site/About%20WCC.html.
We would also like to thank all the following persons and businesses who have contributed financially to WCC: David Kinkel and Oppenheimer, Bob Bowden and Slopeside, Big Mountain Tire, Snowboarders/Skiers For Christ, Charles and Mickey Lapp, Rocky Mountain Images, Whitefish Church of the Rockies, Joe Coco and Whitefish Edward Jones, Blankenship Construction, Whitefish Kiwanis, Ciao, Wright's Furniture, Ben Franklin, Nancy Gordley and the Great Harvest Bread Company, the Whitefish PTA and Nelson's Hardware.
Strengthening the community through service learning programs is one of the primary goals of WCC. Thanks to the following who have given of their time and personal support to the center: all the WCC volunteers, Judene Mathias, Cheryl Wilder, AET, the Whitefish Police Department, Pastor Cliff Purcell and the congregation of Whitefish Church of the Nazarene, Whitefish Public School administrators, teachers, counselors, staff and the students of the Graphics and Media Arts Department who are designing our logo and our advertising materials.
I'd especially like to thank the support of the CARE board members who give so generously of their time and personal resources to help create a safe and drug-free environment for the youth and families of Whitefish.
Through affordable programs, WCC hopes to continue to partner with CARE to meet the diverse needs of our community and "give" to this community more than it "takes."
Opening of the Teen Center will be March 18 from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. All high school students are welcome to attend "After the Prom", featuring the ska alternative music of "SPOSTA." No entry fee and free food and drinks.
