Catherine (Kay) Livesay Hedman

Catherine (Kay) Livesay Hedman, 85, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at the Lake View Care Center in Bigfork.

She was born Dec. 24, 1920 in Havre to William J. and Faye Livesay.

Her parents moved to the Sweetgrass Hills when she was a baby and 12 years later, they returned to Havre. She completed her education in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1938.

On Nov. 22, 1941, she and Franklin (Bud) Hedman were married in Havre. He passed away in 1977. Shortly after her marriage, they moved to Washington for a short time and then returned to Havre.

In 1955, they purchased the Evergreen Motel in Coram where they lived for 15 years. In 1969, they sold the motel and moved to Columbia Falls where she resided until January 2002. She moved to Bigfork where she resided until her death.

In Havre, she worked at Miller's Photo Studio for a number of years. In Columbia Falls, she worked at Jack's Pharmacy and Don's Pharmacy.

She very active in the Havre V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a member for 60 years. She was also a member of the 6th Avenue Christian Church in Havre.

She loved the outdoors and especially watching the birds. Her home and her family were her life.

She is survived by one daughter, Pam Morton and her husband Bill of Bigfork; a grandson, Jeremy Coberley and his wife Kim of Columbia Falls; a great granddaughter, Chloe Catherine; a brother, Ken Livesay and his wife Jackie of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. Pastor Hal Curtis will officiate.

The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Montana Children's Home, the Sjorgrens Syndrome Foundation, or to the charity of the donors choice.
