Bigfork runner Brooke Andrus and three other area runners were among the thousands of athletes at the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho last weekend.

Andrus and the rest of the Montana Dorymates, Kara DeWalt of Darby; Shannon Ross of Somers and Elysia Andrews of Kalispell, finished second in the two-mile relay with a time of 9:44.08. The Dorymates won the relay in 2004.

Andrus won the 3,200-meter trial during the first day of the games, which spanned Thursday through Saturday. She finished with a time of 11:41.

According to Bigfork Track Coach Neil Eliason, the national event is the biggest high school meet in the country with 2,022 athletes from 24 states and two Canadian provinces.
