Dogs leaving mess behind
I have lived in Whitefish for 20 years. I live on Dakota Avenue. I have noticed in the last year or so all the dog poop everywhere.
People just stand and watch as their dogs poop on people's lawns and on the sidewalk. I rarely see any of them picking it up. I wonder how anyone could actually think this was all right.
The new trail that has been built along the river and under the train trestle is loaded with dog poop. Even though there are bags supplied, there is still dog poop on the trail.
I, along with other friends, are starting to pay attention to who does not pick up after their dogs. I now try and watch those who walk by my house with their dogs and let them eliminate in my front yard and in my drive way and then just walk on.
There is a fine for this, and I will report them. It is not the dog who should be punished but the person who has not got the sense or respect to clean up after the dog.
This is very disappointing that people do not care about the environment for themselves and their neighbors.
