Two members of the Whitefish state champion volleyball team were named to the all-state volleyball team — Mandy McFadden and Ashley Ferda. McFadden and Ferda were also named to the all-conference first team, and Jessie Conners was named to the all-conference second team.

The Glacier Nordic Club's potluck fund-raiser will take place Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. Meet new friends and renew old friendships and do your Christmas shopping at this fund-raiser. Gift items donated from the generous Flathead valley business will be auctioned. Members wishing to take part in the steering of the club are encouraged to attend the general meeting at 5:30 p.m. prior to the festivities. Funds raised are used to offset the costs of grooming the Glacier Nordic Center on the Whitefish Lake Golf Course and many youth programs for children 5-13 years of age.

Basketball and volleyball league standings at The Wave have been posted. Co-ed volleyball — 1, Kari Dodge; 2, The Wave; 3, Budweiser; 4, Bulldog Grill; 5, Athlete's Foot. Women's basketball — 1, Bulldog Grill/Budweiser; 2, Davis Plumbing; 3, Midway Motors; 4, Kari Dodge. Top scorers for women's basketball — 1, Sarah Hislop, 31 points; 2, Amy Brown, 28 points; 3, Carrie Biolo, 27 points. There were no men's games this past week.

The first annual Whitefish Snowboarders and Skiers For Christ Dodgeball Tournament and Rock-Paper-Scissors Showdown will be held at the Central School gym on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. Dodgeball entry fee is $40 per team of eight, with prizes for first, second, third and best-dressed teams. Rock-paper-scissors entry fee is $2; first prize is a $600 gift voucher to the Sportsman Ski Haus. Proceeds will benefit the Whitefish Community Center at Armory Park.
