A 22-year-old Whitefish man was arrested Tuesday, May 10 after the remains of an indoor marijuana grow room were found in his apartment.

Matt Evans was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges after maintenance personnel cleaning his former apartment discovered evidence of a grow room, including marijuana leaves and buds, according to police.

A neighbor was able to provide a description of Evans' car, which Whitefish Police discovered parked in an alley way. Equipment used in growing marijuana was seen in plain view in his car, including grow lights, which simulate sunlight.

After he was arrested, Evans was charged with felony manufacture of dangerous drugs.

Police chief Bill Dial said they are unsure how many plants Evans was growing, but said, "It wasn't a huge operation."
