Well help

Montana State University Extension Water Quality, in cooperation with many local Extension and Sanitarian offices across the state, is offering a drinking water test opportunity for private well water users. Population growth in some counties in Montana has resulted in many new private well installations and homeowners not having a record of their drinking water quality. This drinking water test program includes tests for nitrate-nitrogen, total salinity, sodium concentration (optional), and presence/absence of coliform bacteria. The cost of the tests, which will be completed by Energy Labs, Billings, is $31.50 for the basic test and $40.50 with the sodium test, plus sample shipping cost ($3-5). To sign up for the program and to receive the necessary supplies and instructions, contact Justin Morris in the Flathead County Extension Office at 758-5553.
