Blacktail is a blessing

| February 16, 2005 11:00 PM

When I left Bigfork in mid January for a short vacation, there was approximately a foot and a half of snow on the valley floor and skiing was very good at Blacktail.

Upon returning two weeks later I was surprised to come home to green grass, 40 degree plus temperatures and assuming the snow conditions would be poor.

After waiting for two weeks for snow that never came I decided to drive up and test the conditions.

Several runs later over beautifully groomed snow, I was astounded as to how great the conditions on the top half of the hill was.

With the north facing slopes and good grooming technique, there has been very little melting snow.

I would like to thank the owners and employees of Blacktail for having such a friendly atmosphere, maintaining good skiing conditions and offering free skiing to age 70 and older for folks like myself.
