LaVona Tucker
LaVona Mae Tucker, 80, passed away Dec. 14, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell.
She was born in Molalla, Ore., on May 6, 1925, the daughter of Jim and Artie Mae (Murphy) Snyder.
After LaVona's years of education, she met and married William Voigt, of Whitefish, in 1949, where they became parents of three daughters. While raising their girls, LaVona ran a daycare in their home. William and she later divorced.
She remarried Aug. 4, 1980, to Don Tucker, of Polson, making their home in Eureka. They moved back to Kalispell, where she went to work as a grocery clerk. LaVona retired in 1995 at the age of 70. She enjoyed her sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts. She also liked traveling with Don and visiting with their family.
LaVona was preceded in death by her parents, Mae Hamilton and husband, Vern, and her father, Jim Snyder; and an infant sister, Theressa.
She is survived by her husband, Don, of Kalispell; daughters Verna Crawford and husband, Brian, of Highland, Calif., Sherryl Main and husband, Ted, and Dottie Broad, all of Kalispell; brothers, Richard Snyder, of Whitefish, and Robert Snyder, of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will be held at Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
