Miles Gregory Anderson

Miles Gregory Anderson, 73, of Whitefish, passed away from natural causes on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

He was born June 13, 1931, in Hankinson, N.D., the son of Roy and Edna Anderson. He received his early education at St. Francis Academy in Hankinson.

In 1952 he married Doris Bakkegard at Webster, S.D. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Landsthul, Germany. He worked various jobs, including road construction and oilfield work.

He moved to Browning in 1960 and worked as an independent distributor for Meadow Gold until 1974, when he moved to Whitefish. He worked for Whitefish Property Management until he retired in 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Whitefish; two sisters, Dorothy Manning of Minneapolis, Minn. and Eileen Torgerson of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Janel (Ted) Hall of Browning, and Laurie Anderson of Osburn, Idaho; two sons, Paul Anderson of Whitefish, and Mark (Cindy) Anderson of Longwood, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Leslie, Brian and Brad Hall; Matthew, Marshall and Mitchell Anderson; Kyle and Kelsey Anderson; and one great-grandson, Aidan Gilham; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing is from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday (today) at Austin Funeral Home; Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Austin Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, with The Rev. David Kauffman officiating.
