Russell Andrew Myers

Russell Andrew Myers, 91, beloved husband and father, died Sept. 1, 2004 at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls of natural causes.

He was born March 16, 1913, in Conrad, the son of Charles and Bridget Myers. He spent his boyhood in the Fowler-Ledger area, and

attended school in Fowler.

He married Ethel (Naomi) Pourroy in 1937 and they had three children; Jerry Myers in Conrad, Hazel Van Dessell in Joplin, Durney (deceased). His wife, Ethel, passed away in August 1969.

Russell was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Ledger Rifle Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was interested in firearms. He farmed in Pondera County in the Ledger-Fowler Community. He married Sarah Jeanne Higgins Dickson in Sandpoint, Idaho, on August 2, 1982. They lived on the farm until 1986 when he retired and came to

Whitefish. Jeanne still lives at the family home in Whitefish.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Roland, Frank, and Fred; sisters, Lorna, Inez, Mary and Sarah; his first wife, Ethel and a daughter, Marion.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne in Whitefish; sister, Genevieve McCracken in the Pondera Nursing Home in Conrad; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three step-children; Michael Higgins in Whitefish, William Higgins in Whitefish, Maureen MacKaman in Vancouver, Wash.; and by many nieces and nephews.

His last request was that his ashes be scattered on a hill overlooking the area he farmed.

No memorial services are planned and details are under the direction of

the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.
