Carlo "Barp" Gallo

Carlo "Barp" Gallo died peacefully at his home in Whitefish on Sept. 4, 2004.

He attended Whitefish schools and graduated in 1943. Carlo served in the Army Air Force from 1943-1945, then reenlisted 1950-1954.

He married Shirley Ames in 1956 and they had two sons; Marc and Gary; they later divorced in 1964.

He married Vicki Armstrong Jan. 15, 1976, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada and they had two sons; Tom and Mike.

He was an ironworker who worked all over the Northwest, retiring early with a disability in 1984. He then became a very special "House Dad" to his sons and their many friends. His first love was his family. He loved to garden and work on his lawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tony and Eddie.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, and sons, Gary and Mike at the family home in Whitefish; a son Marc, and daughter-in-law Mary Gallo in Seattle, Wash.; son, Tom Gallo in San Diego, Calif.; one granddaughter, Gaetana Gallo in Kalispell, who was grandpa's pride and joy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all, and in our hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place at his request and is under the direction of the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.
