Whitefish CARE deserves recognition

Thank to the Pilot, and thanks to Shannon Velez for her recent article describing the Central School Peer Mediation program. We are confident that, as a result of her reporting, the program will reach more students and continue to resolve and reduce both major and minor conflicts in the school.

In addition, we wanted to bring to both your and the community's attention the invaluable contributions of Whitefish CARE and Brandee Tyree to the success of the Peer Mediation Program.

Whitefish CARE contributed funds when we most needed them to start the program. Brandee offered incalculable hours and her boundless energy during all phases of the program's development from its organization to mediator training and ongoing monitoring.

As with all community enterprises, there are many people and groups whose efforts are not sufficiently recognized. We do not want Brandee or Whitefish CARE to share their fate.
